VERSANT Object Modeler is a powerful, highly interactive, graphical datamodeling tool that simplifies the task of designing and creating object-oriented applications. It is based on the object modeling technique andnotation developed over the last five years at GE Corporation.With VERSANT Object Modeler users can specify class hierarchies throughsimple pointing and clicking operations, thus creating object models. Theobject model is maintained in a storage-independent form. Code is thengenerated to automatically create an object or relational database in anumber of possible forms, including C++ classes, C structures, and SQLstatements. There is also graphical support for the necessary object-oriented modeling concepts of generalization, association, andaggregation.
